Four Scary Facts about Leaks
Posted by on
It's getting warmer, and that means it's time to think about watering lawns, gardens, and enjoying the spring! Unfortunately, this can also be an expensive time for outdoor water use. Here are some facts to keep in mind as we move towards "lawn care" season. Here are some facts about leaks from the EPA:
- A typical home can have enough leaks to waste 10,000 gallons of water annually
- A smaller group, "ten percent of homes," leaks greater than 90 gallons daily, that's over 32,000 annually!
- Toilet parts break over time, causing water waste
- Many leaks can be fixed without any expenses, such as by tightening shower heads

Yikes! If your home wastes 32,000 gallons annually, that's enough to completely fill three swimming pools, not something you want to be doing on your own dime, especially if you don't even get to swim in it!
