It's Sprinkler Season - Know How Much You're Watering
Posted by on
Outdoor Water Waste
According to the EPA up to 50% of outdoor water use goes to waste. Over watering can also hurt lawns or gardens. What steps are you taking to protect your plants and local water resources? One of the easiest and quickest ways is to use rain gauges with your watering.
How it Works
Rain gauges are inserted into the ground with a stake. Use the readings on the gauge to know much water your lawn has gotten. This works for rain as well as for sprinklers, and is great when you're away and want to know how much water your lawn has gotten. Generally, a healthy lawn needs only 1 inch of water every ten days.
